The Community Benefit Pressure Cooker

Balancing emergency demands with the need to build healthier communities

Wednesday, February 25, 2009 - Noon 1:30 PM Pacific Standard Time

In recent years, nonprofit hospitals have faced an unprecedented level of public scrutiny regarding their charitable or community benefit obligations. The current economic crisis has dramatically raised the stakes as communities are confronted with both reduced funding and increased safety net demands.

Dialogue4Health is hosting a proactive discussion focusing on the opportunities and challenges associated with building stronger working relationships between nonprofit hospitals, local public health agencies and diverse community stakeholders.

A program of the Public Health Institute's Dialogue4Health, The Community Benefit Pressure Cooker: Balancing emergency demands with the need to build healthier communities, is a free, interactive forum that brings leading experts together to examine this issue and offer surprising insights critical to anyone concerned about the health of our nation.
